A concession stand is a small restaurant that opens for four hours, is staffed by people who have never worked one, and funds most of what the club does. It fails in the same two places every season: the second half of a double-header, when the first crew has gone home, and the end of the night, when whoever is left counts the cash alone.

This sheet covers one home date rather than a season, because that is the unit a parent actually signs up for. Print one per game and keep them in the box with the float.

Getting it filled

Four things that decide whether it works.

Two hours, and name the job

"Concessions" is why people sign up once and never again. "Grill, 12:00–2:00" is a job with an end time, and it fills faster than the vague version even though it asks for the same two hours.

Staff the second half before the first

The 10:00 shift always fills; the 2:00 shift is the one that leaves a stand with one person in it. Fill from the bottom of the sheet upwards.

Put the closing jobs on the sheet as jobs

Cash count, restock for next week, trash and lock-up. If they are not lines with names on them, they are done by whoever is slowest to leave — which is usually the same parent every week.

Mark who actually worked it

If your league requires shifts per family, this column is the whole record. Sign-ups are intentions; the tick is what you can defend in April when somebody disputes it.

When paper stops being enough

One sheet per game is fine. Twelve home dates across four sports, each owned by a different parent, is where the requirement stops being enforceable — nobody is holding the tally. Online, the season is posted once and the hours worked per family come out as a report you can sort in April.
